About Me
Hello! I’m Mridul Gupta, but you can call me EmGiXIII (pronounced “M G 13”). Welcome to my personal corner of the internet.
I’m a physics graduate who has recently embarked on a new and exciting chapter: a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. My research is focused on the fascinating world of Quantum Computing. This website serves as a living document of my academic explorations, creative projects, and everything in between.
You can view my full resume here.
What is EmGiCO?
EmGiCO (pronounced “M G Co”) is a childhood dream of mine, a name I came up with in 4th grade for a future company. For now, it’s the banner under which I share my thoughts, projects, and discoveries on this blog. It stands for “Mridul Gupta and Company,” and you’re welcome to be a part of it.
My Journey
Academic Path
I graduated from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata with a BS-MS Dual Degree in Physics. My master’s thesis explored an interesting intersection of number theory and computer science, focusing on converting prime factorization into a Boolean Satisfiability (B-SAT) problem.
This fall, I began my Ph.D. in Computer Science at IIT Delhi. I’m diving deep into quantum computation, with the goal of developing and analyzing novel algorithms that harness the power of quantum mechanics.
Skills & Passions
My technical toolkit includes Python, TypeScript, and Rust. I’m comfortable with scientific computing libraries like NumPy and Matplotlib, and I enjoy building web experiences with frameworks like React and Astro.
Outside of academia, I’m passionate about generative and digital art. I also have a soft spot for the intellectual challenge of esoteric programming languages like Brainf*ck.
Let’s Connect
I’m always open to discussing physics, quantum computing, generative art, or anything else that sparks curiosity. Feel free to connect with me:
